Trying a new restaurant brings me the most ridiculous amounts of joy. Going to those new restaurants with fellow food fanatics makes me even happier 🙌🏼 Last night, after hearing a whole lot about it, I got to try Tanuki with people I love ❤️
I knew I loved sushi, but who knew? I apparently am now also obsessed with dumplings 😍 We heard they were good so we tried several :)

We had the Peking duck dumpling which was an awsome mix between savory and sweet. Delish.

Beef and foie sounded like an awesome combo (especially for someone who LOVES foie) but although it was good, I couldn’t really taste the foie. That made my heart sad 💔 Pass on this one...

But my heart was quickly repaired with these: chicken and truffle ❤️❤️❤️ These were the most ridiculous little bags of happiness. Stuffed with moist chicken and topped with slivers of black truffle... holy moly.

The Tanuki burger came highly recommended by a friend who clearly knows her food. Raw tuna on a crispy sushi rice “bun” with avocado. Although not advertised, I could have sworn it also had some truffle oil 🙌🏼 A must have.

Sushi’s were up next: truffled yellowtail. Nuff said really. How could this ever not be amazing. Yellowtail, avocado, some daikon chili and truffle oil.

My brilliant husband asked for the crunchy tuna. I love this man. Tuna and cucumber, wrapped in some kind of crunchy amazingness and topped with a creamy soy concoction. Oh yes.

Last but never least, the toro roll. There’s something awesome about fatty tuna, so although this roll was on the plain side, the creaminess of the toro was just delicious.

The award for weirdest dessert ever goes to this green tea molten lava cake, but it was crazy enough to work. The green tea ice cream was sweet but not too sweet. I don’t know why I say that, like it’s a good thing, but this dessert was actually really yummy.

We also had an assortment of mochi which were good, but honestly I just kept going back to the aforementioned green tea thingamajig.
