In my search for yummy food in Panama, a friend suggested I try Miranda for lunch. When your friend is a fellow foody AND pregnant, you listen :)The place itself is the perfect spot for lunch. It’s located in San Francisco (a neighborhood where several houses have been turned into awesome little restaurants) so picture a quaint house with a cute back porch.
The minute you walk in, the smell hits you: baked goods I’ve never met a carb I didn’t love, so imagine my excitement when I read on the menu that all of the bread and baked goods were made in house. I couldn’t wait to get eating.

The menu is pretty short, but it’s all you need. We wanted to be healthy and share…so we shared two plates :).

We had both the green goat burger and the spicy fried chicken.
The burger first: wow. The meat was a little too well done (they were probably terrified of serving a pregnant girl undercooked meat) but all of the toppings made up for it. The meat was smothered in a goat cheese sauce and layered with fried green tomatoes. Flavor upon flavor. A must have.
The fried chicken sandwich was also super flavorful, but it’s hard to beat a burger and goat cheese so that’s all the excitement the chicken is gonna get.
The fries. The fries deserve their own post. We tried both the regular fries and the sweet potato fries. Their regular fries are made with rosemary (easily my favorite herb). We devoured them. The sweet potato fries were drizzled with honey. All sweet potato fries from here on should be drizzled with honey.

We were stuffed but I felt it was my responsibility as a foody to have some dessert.
We opted for the chocolate tres leches. It was delicious. It was creamy and saucy and awesome… but then came the cookies.

My cousin insisted I try their fresh baked chocolate chip cookies. Who am I to not listen to a pregnant woman? I obliged. These cookies were outstanding. Gooey chocolate, chewy cookie, with a touch of salt. What tres leches? Apparently they have several desserts made only on weekends. If they’re anything like these chocolate chip cookies, I’ll be back here on Saturday.
