In my attempt to eat everything in Panama, my latest victim was Emma’s (buahahaha). Located in Marbella, Emma’s has a really sweet looking patio in front. Enter through some cool solid wooden doors and get ready to eat.

We started with the chef’s version of a poke bowl (as you know by now, me + raw fish = bliss). This was one delicious poke bowl. Typical raw tuna, but at the bottom a luscious coconut sauce. Oh my. The saltiness of the soy sauce got tamed by the sweetness of the coconut sauce. I wanted to drink what was leftover.

Unfortunately, I didn’t feel the same about the ceviche. The idea was cool (mixing the classic ceviche with a variety of fruits) but it was too sweet. I needed more lemon. If you’re gonna pick between raw fish dishes, get the poke.

Next we had the bulgogi Philly cheesesteak egg rolls. I felt happy again The meat had some sweetness while the cheese sauce brought the salt. Match that with the crunchiness of the egg roll and you’ve got an awesome appetizer.

Because cheese, we also shared a cheese platter. The blue cheese mousse was delish as were the manchego and Parmesan. The cheeses were paired with candied pecans and an orange marmalade. Hard to go wrong. I also loved the presentation. Big believer that you eat with your eyes first.

For the main course, we shared the prime rib. This dish felt like a warm hug. The meat was so flavorful and tender, paired with rustic potatoes and (sit down for this) a head of garlic you could squeeze out on top of your meat like some sort of amazing garlic mash. Delicious.

Although I was stuffed, we had to have some dessert because the restaurant served desserts. I don’t need a better reason
The banana bread pudding with caramel and pecans was stupid good. I literally had to ask the server to remove it because I could not stop myself from devouring it. Wow.
We also shared the chocolate soufflé which was delicious, but to me the highlight here was the basil ice cream. Also I was too busy stuffing my face with banana bread pudding.
All in all, a delicious meal, but the banana bread pudding has my heart .
